Background:

Recombinant human interleukin 17A (IL-17A), expressed in engineered human cells, is produced by a subset of T-helper cells identified as Th17 cells. IL-17 is very important in inflammatory reactions and induces stromal cells to produce hematopoietic and proinflammatory cytokines. IL-17 up-regulates the production of various growth factors that promote angiogenesis and enhances expression of certain adhesion molecules in fibroblasts.
